Lee Goehring is a Principal at Capitol Meridian, where he focuses on originating and executing new investment opportunities and is actively engaged on value creation and monitoring for certain Capitol Meridian existing portfolio companies. Lee currently leads the day-to-day engagement with Altumint, LMI and Clarity Innovations, where he serves as a Director.
Lee has over eight years’ experience in principal investing and has deployed over $1 billion in equity across twelve buyside investments. Lee spent more than five years with The Carlyle Group in investing roles in Carlyle’s U.S. Buyout and U.S. Growth/Middle Market teams before joining Peak Rock Capital, where he served as Vice President in the U.S. Technology team. During his time at Carlyle, Lee played an important role in a number of platform investments including Unison Software (sold to Madison Dearborn Partners), Coalfire Systems (sold to Apax Partners), ECi Software (sold to Leonard Green Partners), and Net Health Systems. Lee was also selected to spend a year in Carlyle’s Executive Group, where he supported Carlyle’s C-Suite in executing key strategic initiatives across Carlyle’s private equity and real asset business units.
Lee received a bachelor’s degree of business administration in corporate finance from the Kenan- Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He began his career with Morgan Stanley in their Investment Banking Division in New York. Originally from Northern Virginia, Lee lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife and daughter.
