Michael Puopolo is a Managing Director at Capitol Meridian, a private equity firm focused on investing in companies operating at the intersection of government and commercial markets.
Prior to CMP, Michael was a Principal at Blackstone, where he helped lead its technology private equity investing activity in various end markets including government and education. While at Blackstone, he was involved in seven platform investments totaling $44bn of enterprise value and served on five boards including Ellucian, Renaissance Learning and Cvent.
Prior to Blackstone, Michael worked with the CMP team as a member of Carlyle’s Aerospace, Defense & Government Services team. During that time, he was involved in Carlyle’s investments in Booz Allen Hamilton, Novetta and Sequa.
Michael received an AB in Economics and Government from Harvard College and an MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and daughter.
